Exploring Respiratory Motion Tracking Through Electrical Impedance Tomography

Motion tracking is an effective approach for the management of respiratory motion during medical imaging process, which has always been a major concern in diagnostic imaging, interventional, and noninvasive therapy. However, low speed traditional techniques limits practical application real-time tracking. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) proved to be tool continuous monitoring lung activity/status. never studied EIT field before. In this article, preliminary research movement process first based on EIT. Multiring electrode thorax models under different statuses were constructed obtain simulation data A modified TV algorithm used estimation volume 3-D images, improve quality reconstruction by approximately 30% 20% compared with Tikhonov method total variation (TV) method, respectively. Both simulations experiments conducted show potential through reconstruction.
